Challenge #25 Summertime

After a VERY long and frigid Wisconsin winter, we feel more than ever that summer is definitely worth celebrating! :-) If you have some summer birthdays, art journal pages, scrapbook pages or anything else that depicts summertime, this month's challenge is for you.

But first: The winner of Challenge # 24 is #9, Donna Whitten, with this adorable Fourth of July decoration:

Congratulations, Donna, you you will receive a free Raisin Boat stamp set of your choice! Please email customerservice@raisinboat.com with the name and item number of your set selection, as well as your mailing address. (To view your stamp set options, go to www.RaisinBoat.com, click on the Products tab, and click on any category or the catalog link.)

Thank you to everyone who joined the challenge. We hope you will continue to share your wonderful creations with us!

Now for the challenge: Create an invitation, card, table decoration, banner, art journal page or scrapbook page about a parade, picnic, flowers, garden, beach/pool, ice cream, the great outdoors, etc., -- anything that depicts “Summertime.” It can be whatever you may need to create and use! Just remember to do some stamping.

Use any set you have (you don't have to limit your entry to Raisin Boat stamps), but if you use a Raisin Boat stamp set, it will count as two entries. That gives you twice the chance to win a FREE stamp set of your choice! You can enter as often as you like.

Remember you can rent or buy sets from Raisin Boat. No guilt in using a set for just one project, such as a challenge. We look forward to seeing your creations!

Here are the upcoming challenges for 2014 to help you get the perfect sets into your rental Pick List:
July: Summertime
August: Birthday
September: Halloween
October: Thankful
November: Christmas

This challenge will close on the 12th of August.

Here are some creations from the Idea Gallery to get you started:

Linda created this berry cute card using Icing on the Cake and Strokes of Wisdom.

This card, made with Cool Treats along with beachy corner accents from Splash,
will have you chasing down the ice cream truck on a hot day!

We seem to be on a food/beverage pattern here so far, fitting for a summer filled with picnics and parties. The tomatoes from our Garden of Weedin' set helped make this fresh card, along with the glasses from Drinks Anyone?.

This card, featuring Sprinkled Wishes, is sure to get your ideas bloomin' for this summer challenge! After all, any floral creation says "summer"...

Summer is all about R&R at your favorite escape -- such as the cabin! We used a brayer to create the sunset and grassy areas to support the images from Pier Happiness on this cozy, peaceful card.

What would summer be without flip flops and friends? Fill our clear curvy bottle with a candy treat for a fun summer surprise gift. The flip flops, dressed up with stylish flower brads, are from Perfect Partners.

October: Thankful
November: Christmas

This Graduation/Congratulations challenge will close on the 12th of June.

Here are some creations from the Idea Gallery to get you started:

Linda Lapotka used High Five Grad to create this card for a special graduate. The mortarboard and diploma are popped up and enhanced with a little Glitter Liner BronzeThe sentiment on the inside is from Opportunity Knocks which says,
"Be the change that you want to see in the world." Ghandi

Here's inspiration for the graduate, from Crew Team designer Katherine Schmitt!
Katherine used Opportunity Knocks and Night Owl (see links to sets and all supplies used here).

Our studying gal from Gals on Fast Lane is perfect for recognizing a graduate's hard work! You could also stamp inspirational wording or greetings on the front of the desk. The "GRAD" and "You did it!" phrases are from "High Five Grad" (see links to sets and all supplies used here).

What grad doesn't enjoy a little chocolate?! This would also make an adorable grad party announcement. We created the frosting with brown liquid applique, accented with rhinestone non-pareils (you can also dab with dots of colored Pearl Pen). Delish! See links to sets and all supplies used here.

There's a world of creative possibilities with the set, "It's a Bird..It's a Plane"!
See links to all sets and supplies used here.

This is a quick and easy card to inspire your graduate, or anyone pursuing a dream! White-emboss the images first (from Strokes of Wisdom), then moisten the tip of a make-up sponge with rubbing alcohol and add a couple colors of Memento ink refill. Then streak the sponge across your glossy cardstock. See links to sets and supplies used here.

You can also use the set "It's a Bird...It's a Plane" to congratulate someone on a retirement!  Add any phrase to the inside of the banner. See links to sets and supplies used here.

This greeting, again featuring "It's a Bird...It's a Plane", can congratulate anyone on anything with a cheery High 5See links to sets and supplies used here.

New 3D Stamp Paints will add shimmer and dimension to your projects!

I used to have this dream in college that I was faced with a math exam final at the University of Wisconsin and I had forgotten and/or not attended the class all semester. That is how I felt this morning when I realized I have not published anything on our blog since January 12!  Thank goodness we have Linda Lapotka publishing our monthly challenges for us. She's kept our blog busy with entries to our fun monthly contest.

Kim and I have been very busy the last few weeks preparing and heading out to shows. We've gone as far as Mesa, Arizona last month. We've had a great time at our shows and as well as continuing to service our online customers. We love meeting new people and new customers. It's been great.

Since our last post, we've added new stamp sets and new products. Our latest product intro is 3D Stamp Paint. If you have not used this product yet, you have to get it! It is so fun to use. I did a demo at the Madison Mingle show in Middleton, Wisconsin a few weeks ago and the ladies loved it. We almost sold out of the colors. In fact, the group called me the next day to see if I could bring more for them to purchase.

Once you start working with it, you will want all of the colors. It's fun to use one color, but very exciting to play with all of the colors. It's the blending of the colors that makes the opportunities and results amazing. I really like doing resist techniques and using the paints with our embossing folders, too. The paint is shimmery and blends together beautifully.

Here's a few cards I made, but be sure to check out all of the ideas in our Idea Gallery at www.RaisinBoat.com. Our Idea Gallery lists the colors of paints we used for each card creation.

Here's a link to a video I created showing the "101" of using the paints with embossing folders and also a resist technique project.

If you have not tried this product, you will love it. It's got so many possibilities! Smiles, Bobbi
