Inspired by our Design Challenge Participants

It's fun for me to see how people use Raisin Boat stamp sets. Five crafters can look at the same set and find five totally different ways to use it. Our creativity and imagination and our love to share is what makes our crafting so fun. I'm looking forward to seeing our challenges grow in participation as people become more aware of our company and blog.

I've already found inspiration in our first three participants' cards. I love Andrea's spinner card idea using the hamster in a ball from Hug a Hamster. It's such a fun card for kids to get. Andrea did a great job. I have not made a spinner card with this set, but I plan to soon. It's the perfect image for it!

I also like how Karen took Edgy Accents and made an artful sky for her tree image from Asian Serenity Bold. I'm always drawn to non-literal intrepretations and Karen's use of the trianguler corner image really works for me! This is something I'm going to do as well.

Ema made a window card using Golf Pro. Looking out her window you can see the golf course scene from the set. Love this! What a perfect image for this window card. What man or woman wouldn't mind seeing that scene from their window? Now they can. Ema also used A Dog's Life for the card.

I had a little time last night to get inky in my studio so I made a card - inspired by Ema's card - to share today. Using the poodle from Puppy Love and a fun bird brad from our brads selection, I gave our poodle something fun to see out the window.

The poodle from Puppy Love and our Chirping Bird brads
make a cute pair for this card!

To make the window I punched four squares out of my card front and then used my Memento marker in black to create a window sill and moldings. Following Ema's lead, I made curtains by accordian folding a piece of our Brighton Beach White cardstock. I tied it up with Peapod Baker's Twine. I also create wallpaper and a shrub for the background. Lastly, I added Liquid Applique in white (on the poodle) and brown (dog food in the dish) to add a little dimension. Everything is colored using Copic markers. I'll post my card to our idea gallery and share all of the details of the products used.

To view the inspiration cards mentioned, visit our blog post. Thanks Andrea, Karen and Ema for inspiring me this week. I look forward to even more fun ideas in our upcoming challenges.

New sets for the cooks!

Raisin Boat just came out with two new sets for the cooks in your life - "Just Add Love" and "Cup of Flower." I love these sets! They include simple cooking tools, but with a twist! That's the part makes these so cute and different! :) Here's look at a few cards I recently made using the sets.

Have you ever received a little extra help from a neighbor or two? Do they let you know when you left your garage door open? (I was so grateful when they called me :)) How about letting your dog out for you when you're running late? Have you ever borrowed a cup of sugar or flour from the neighbor? Here's a way to thank them!

Use "Cup of Flower" to say "thank you" or "to brighten some one's day.
We used our BHC ribbon in Urban Blues to match the cardstock perfectly!

Sifting through the adorable images in the two sets, I came up with this next card using "Just Add Love"...

Our sifter is a nice way to say "you're the finest."

Here's one of those twists I was talking about...I love the "cup of flower"!

The measuring guide in our measuring cup is a nested
image so you can stamp it separately in a color for added interest.

Watch for a special this week when you buy both of these sets at! For a complete list of the products used on these cards, go to and click on idea gallery.

New Racing Sets will capture the attention of your favorite race fans!

For you race fans, Raisin Boat released three new racing sets this week:

  • Race Fan
  • Fast Lane
  • Pedal to the Metal

All three sets allow lots of personalization to make your projects fun! Send a "speedy" recovery card, a "quick" birthday note or a "fast" Father's Day card for those that love the race track!

Race Fan includes the car and lots of fun logos to make your card personal. The images inside the card are nested and come out. Then - simply add a logo or two to personalize. Color it all in your fan's favorite driver's ride!

Race Fan includes fun "logos" to personalize the car.
For more versatility and details, "Fast Lane" has it all. I love just using these images without the car, too! I sent my brother the "Pit Stop" card below for his birthday. He got a chuckle out of it!

Fast Lane has all the bells and whistles (or should we say
tires and tracks) to add to our set "Race Fan."
When you want a cool masculine pattern paper or print, consider "Pedal to the Metal." It looks so good stamped black on grey! Wow. Love it!

Add a very textural background using our
"Pedal to the Metal" background stamp. Our
backgrounds are so big, they cover the entire card front of
a 5.5" X 4.25" card!

All three sets work well together or independently. Take a "pit" stop at and check out all of the ideas featuring these three new sets.

Special offer: Buy any two of the three sets and get a free pack of checkered flag brads (12pcs) for free (a $2.99 value + pay no shipping on them). These are fun to add to your projects for a little "male bling":). Offer ends on Tuesday, June 5 2012. (No code needed. We'll include in all qualifying orders!)

Here's a few samples to get your creative juices "racing"......

Does Dad do a lot of oil changes in the garage? How about a Father's Day card
that fits perfectly for him?!

Create a spinner card using the tire and other images from "Fast Lane."
This is great for "Happy Re-TIRE-ment" wishes!

And here are a few more projects I made..... Enjoy. Bobbi
