Challenge #3 - A Sketch Challenge

Thank you to everyone who joined our Birthday Challenge! Every card was amazing, so again we say, thank goodness we use a random number generator to pick a winner! Choosing one would be impossible!

The number again this month was the number 2, and that was Debra M. with this great card she created using our Lawn King set.

Debra, you will receive a free Raisin Boat stamp set of your choice!
Please email with
your set name and mailing address.

This month, our challenge is to use your Raisin Boat stamps to make a creation based on this wonderful sketch -- which was done by
our very own Design Crew Team member Melissa Craig:

You can make any kind of project... a card, scrapbook page, the cover for a mini, anything... as long as you use Raisin Boat images and follow this sketch in your layout.

A winner will be randomly chosen from all of the entries to receive a FREE Raisin Boat set of her/his choice!

Need a little inspiration? The Raisin Boat Design Crew Team has these great ideas to share with you!

If you don’t have a blog, you can e-mail your entry (with your name and email address) to and we will post it for you.
If you do have a blog, please follow these steps:
1. Go to the bottom of the blog challenge posting and look for a little blue shape with a picture of a frog on it and the words “add your link”. Click on this button.

Three boxes will now appear underneath the blue button. In the first box, you need to put the URL or web address for your blog post. The easiest way to do this is to copy the blog post address and then paste it into this box. A retirement card that will make you flip!

My oldest sister retired last week and is very happy about her decision. She has a pool in her backyard that she likes to enjoy. I made her this customized card using the set, "Summer Lineup" - a set in our new laundry series. The front says "What is the real meaning of retirement?" If you flip up the beach towel, you will get the answer (see third photo). She got a kick out of it!

I used the beach towel from Summer Lineup and the clouds are from the set, Breezy Butterflies. Using Copics in C1 and B00, I gave the clouds more dimension. I love the look you get with just a little bit if definition lines and some cool shading.

I used our natural baker's twine for the clothesline. If you punch holes in the towel and string it through, the reader can flip it up to see a concealed message. You could also use this concept for a party invite by putting party details under the towel, too. How fun would that be?!

The inside of the card includes the smile face from the set, "Short and Sweet."

Underneath the towel, if you flip it up, it says the real meaning of retirement is "More pool time!." Sorry about the shadows. It's the beach towel lifted that is causing the poor pic.

My sister loves lounging in her pool chair and loved getting this personalized card from us! Try this idea for your summer loving kids and friends!

New laundry sets just came down the line...

Raisin Boat just released five new laundry sets and they are so cute! They all have one thing in common...they include items that can go on the clothesline. The five can be used separately or interchangeably. Here they are...

  • Short and Sweet - Great for tweens, teens and BFFs! Say "tanks" with this set!
  • Put It Delicately - Offer a little support to a friend with the cute bra and matching panties!
  • His and Hers - No work, all play with our fun vacation shirt. You gotta love the granny panty, too. :)
  • Summer Lineup - Trendy bikini, matching beach towel and a cute T to personalize make this set perfect for summer and more!
  • Loads of Love - A bundle of joy can bring a basket full of laundry. Dry them out by stamping on them down the line.

I've been having so much fun with these sets. Here are a few cards I've made using our new releases.

This card features our new min clothespins in natural and a variety
of colors. Shown here is the red one.

Stamp the shirt from "His and Hers" on printed paper
to make a plaid shirt!

Use Baker's Twine as the clothes line. Raisin Boat offers
a variety of colors to match your projects.

Add an element of surprise by allowing one item to fall from the pin!

I should also let you know that we also have a new Innies & Outies package called "Laundry Lines" that includes pre-printed inside sentiments that coordinate with our laundry sets. Add an "innie" to the inside of your card and then insert it into the "outie" - an outside envelope and send.

In the next example, I used one of these "innies" as part of my card front. This is one of the verses you get in the package.

Finish your card with our new wooden mini clothespins, too. They come in natural and color. Here's a baby card I made using the natural clothespins and some of our natural baker's twine.

We've got more ideas that we will be sharing our in our Idea Gallery and on Facebook so keep watching for more on the line! Smiles, Bobbi
