Challenge #28 Thankful

We're "Thankful" for the next challenge! That gives you a big hint on what the theme is. :-) And we have a new set that is perfect for this "Thankful"-themed challenge called  Happy Thanksgiving:

But first, let's congratulate the winner of last month's Halloween challenge, #6 Andrea B., who made the adorable card below. What a clever idea to turn the tree tops from our Central Park set into candies -- we love it, Andrea!

Congratulations, Andrea, you you will receive a free Raisin Boat stamp set of your choice! Please email customerservice@raisinboat.com with the name and item number of your set selection, as well as your mailing address. (To view your stamp set options, go to www.RaisinBoat.com, click on the Products tab, and click on any category or the catalog link.)

All of the Halloween entries were very creative! You can check out each entry by clicking on each person's name. Thank you to everyone who joined the challenge last month. We hope you will continue to share your wonderful creations with us!

Now for Challenge #28, "Thankful." This is a great time to reflect on all that you are thankful for. You can create a journal page, a scrapbook page, a place card for your Thanksgiving dinner, or greetings to have on hand to show your appreciation for a kind act or gift. It doesn't have to be a Thanksgiving theme -- any expression of gratitude will work for this challenge.

You may just win a FREE stamp set of your choice! You can enter as often as you like. Use any set you have (you don't have to limit your entry to Raisin Boat stamps), but if you use a Raisin Boat stamp set, it will count as two entries. That gives you twice the chance to win a FREE stamp set of your choice!

Remember you can rent or buy sets from Raisin Boat. No guilt in using a set for just one project, such as a challenge. We look forward to seeing your creations!

New Release - Camo Man stamp set

"Camo Man" is another new set in our series of hunter inspired sets this fall. The set includes silhouetted wild game animals, quick punch-out sentiments, and a set of organic shapes to create camouflage patterns.

Here's the set and its images:

I really had fun making the camouflage designs in these following cards. For the first one, I used our Boot Tracks embossing folder for the background, too.

I thought it would be fun to create these Ts using "Summer Lineup" stamp set. The wood background is from "Handy Man" stamp set and the sign, "Welcome to the Cabin" is from the set with the same name.

I didn't want to forget about those female hunters either. "Camo Man" can be for a woman, too, despite its name. I do know a few woman that hunt with their husbands and significant others (not in this family, however)! To make this card, I got out my laundry sets - "Put it Delicately" and "His and Hers." I also used a new set called "Welcome the Cabin" and added the "Hunter since..." I'm going to add year number in there after I decide who is getting this card. It's a cute way to personalize it for the recipient. There's a phrase in the set, "Dressed to Kill" which is pretty clever to use with this the camo pattern.

The phrase in this set about "hunting down your present" is so cute to use with camo gift wrap. I made the gift and tucked it between some grassy and sticks from, "Sticks in Season" stamp set.

You can use this set without the camo pattern, too. The silhouetted animals are quick and easy to use and fit nicely inside the circular and square graphic sentiments, too.

I'm going to create a video to show how to get the best looks with the camo organic shapes. Stay tuned for that! Smiles, Bobbi

Happy Thanksgiving from Raisin Boat!

It's fun to see the change of the seasons in the Midwest and with it comes a change in stamp sets at Raisin Boat! We have just released five new sets with the outdoorsman and hunter in mind.

Here's the first one, "Happy Thanksgiving." The set includes two turkeys, a pheasant, and one large pumpkin along with several nice phrases and thank you messages.

Here's a few projects I made with this one.

A simple tag is a nice addition to a hostess "thank you" gift for the one making the feast this season.

I made some cards, too.  For this next one, I used my Teal Zeal Memento ink to create the sky background. I had so much fun coloring pumpkins with this set. You can make them any color. Love that!

To help with the coloring, we created a new set of Copics that includes the colors I use over and over, especially on these cards. It's called Early Autumn and it complements our Rustic Pier tones well. Here's a link to them - Early Autumn.  These markers were used for this next card. Shading the pumpkins in C1, C3 and C5 really makes them jump off the page, too. Two of those markers are in our Skipping Stones marker collection.

I love the pheasant in this set, too. You can make it come alive with the coloring of the feathers. The Grassy Silhouette embossing folder was used for the background.

This last one uses all of the colors in the Early Autumn Copic collection. Love this warmth of this scene. It's so easy to do, too. I did "pop" the breast of the turkey to create a 3-D effect, too.

I hope you enjoyed these samples. Here's a link to all of them in our Idea Gallery. You can find all of the Copic colors and supplies I used to make these, if you are interested.

This set really puts me in the spirit of the holiday. I'm so thankful I get to do this for our business! Smiles, Bobbi
